In Turkey, payment cards are by far the most commonly used payment method for online purchases. Mastercard, Visas and American Express are widely accepted and frequently used—not only for standard transactions, but also for installment payments and loyalty programs. Troy
Also worth noting are the local alternatives, such as Troy – the Turkish national card system – which is steadily gaining ground. Troy is currently accepted by a limited number of PSPs, but an increasing number of Payment Providers are expanding their support for it.
BKM Express
Another important payment method is BKM Express – a Turkish digital wallet developed by the national payment platform BKM. Users link their bank cards to this wallet and make secure payments without sharing their card details. BKM Express is fast, mobile-friendly, and popular among consumers who value privacy. Mobile Wallets
In addition, there are emerging mobile wallets such as Papara, Paycell and FastPay , which are particularly popular among young people and app-first companies. These apps offer quick onboarding, cashback promotions, and simple payment requests—features that appeal to price-conscious consumers.
Bank transfer

PayPal is no longer available
It is important to note that PayPal since 2016 no longer available is in Turkey. The company ceased operations after failing to obtain a new license from the Turkish Financial Supervisory Authority (BDDK) because it refused to host its IT systems locally.
Apple Pay and Google Pay are not (yet) available
Apple Pay en Google Pay are currently not available for online payments in Turkey. Turkish banks do not support these services, which means users cannot add local payment cards to Apple Pay or Google Pay. Although Apple Pay technically works with foreign cards, Turkish users cannot use these services with local cards.
