Riverty (formerly AfterPay) is a well-known payment method for buying now and paying later. Would you like to accept Riverty in your webshop? Read how it works and which providers support it.
Make it easy on yourself: quickly find the right payment provider to offer Riverty in your checkout.
Riverty, formerly known as AfterPay, offers customers the option to pay after receiving their order. For customers, this means extra security, while for you as a business owner, it means immediate payment without the risk of non-payment. Riverty assesses the consumer's creditworthiness and takes care of the entire collection process.
Riverty offers various options: Buy Now Pay Later, Installment payments, or Direct debit, depending on your preferences and the options offered by the chosen Payment Service Provider (PSP).
The costs for accepting Riverty are higher than for direct payment methods such as iDEAL. As a business owner, you usually pay a percentage per transaction between 2% and 5%, plus a fixed fee per payment (for example, €0.30 to €1.00). The exact rates vary per payment provider and depend on your turnover, industry, and risk assessment.
Because Riverty assumes the payment risk and handles the entire invoicing and collection process, these costs are often considered justified, especially for products with higher order values. Easily compare Payment Service Providers that support Riverty and request multiple quotes without obligation.
Accepting Riverty in your webshop is usually easy to arrange through your Payment Service Provider. Mollie, Buckaroo, MultiSafepay, and Pay. are among those offering integrations with Riverty. For platforms such as Shopify, WooCommerce, or Magento, most payment providers have plugins available so you can go live quickly.
Do you have a custom platform? Then you can integrate Riverty as part of your payment flow via your PSP's API. You can often combine Riverty with other methods, such as iDEAL, Apple Pay, or Bancontact.
Various PSPs support Riverty as a post-payment method. Well-known providers include Mollie, Buckaroo, MultiSafepay, and Pay. You can often easily activate and manage Riverty via your PSP dashboard.

Riverty always performs an underwriting assessment before you can offer the payment method. Not every industry or product group is automatically eligible. Online stores with physical products and a clear return policy are most likely to be approved.
Riverty performs a real-time credit check on the customer with every order. Only if the consumer is approved can he or she use Buy Now Pay Later. As a merchant, you will automatically receive confirmation of this in your checkout.
The payment risk lies entirely with Riverty, not with you as an entrepreneur. Riverty takes care of collecting the amount from the customer, including any payment reminders or collection procedures.
Riverty pays you, the entrepreneur, immediately, usually within a few business days after the transaction. The customer then still has the option to pay within the agreed term, but that is separate from your settlement.
